I bought my Vista from an online retailer in early 2009. Had a slight problem with it and emailed customer service.
Got a quick response. They fedexed the replacement part the same day. Didn't ask for where I bought it or if I was the original owner even though their site says you have to get it from an authorized seller and be the first owner for the warranty to be valid. (I did and I am, but they didn't ask.)
