This is a very good deal. I got mine at Vitamin shop for $7.59 AFTER CASH BACK and felt like I got a good deal, plus I had to order other things to get free ship. This is only 30 cents more and you don't have to buy a hundred bucks worth of stuff or wait for cash back.

This is a nice size to try it. If you haven't yet, go get it ladies!

Wish they still had the bag. I need to travel with it and I can squish it between clothes. But at that deal, I'll get some too.
BTW, do these store well? I should probably stock up, but I don't want to encounter a hard lump after opening the tub 1-2 years from now.

the tubs, IMHO, are very small. I got 6 of them to stock up! :)

I totally got the hard lump in the bag after letting it sit a few months.

I just smacked the bag with my big mallet. :ROTFLMAO:

I imagine the plastic jars will rectify this.

To travel, I'd dump some in a Ziploc. Or will they think it's drugs and seize it?

I always put it in a ziploc bag and label it for travel.

The description calls it a bag & the reviews say it's not the jar.
"I just received my order and it is not what is pictured. The company who fulfilled the order had purchased a bulk soap order from Charlies (I hope!) and repackaged it into smaller amounts. I'm fine with purchasing the product like this, but am upset that I did not know beforehand. Now I'm doubting the authenticity of the product and will definitely be ordering directly from Charlie's next time. My last Charlie's soap order through Amazon was perfect, so I guess it just depends who's fulfilling the order. "

I'm okay with that & bought 2. :D

I just bought two for around the same price a week or two ago and just bought 3 more. We love Charlies. When we were in NC we could buy it locally at WFs, etc. but where I am now I can't find B&M stores that sell.

My mom uses Charlie's so she's taking 1-2 off my hands on her next trip up to visit.

We paid around $14-15 at WFs for the 80 load size when I could buy it locally.

A little lame that it is repackaged from the big container though...I hope it comes w/ a dessicant in there to keep it from moisture getting in there so it doesn't clump (which has happened to me with the bucket sized one before).

Will this work with top loading machines? Want to bite but I left the front loader at the old house. (Seriously, I did. But we got our asking price two days after it was on the market. Can't you tell it doesn't bother me!) :)

YMMV. Works well for cloth diapers. It doesn't have optical brighteners, etc. so if you are used to that, you may not be wild about it at first. No scent, which I love because the heavily scented stuff just gives me a headache now.

Not everyone loves it. We do though.

I haven't used it myself, so I don't know a whole lot about it. From the several threads I've read, though, I believe it is used instead of detergent. It is actually soap, and not detergent. At this price, I'm going to give it a try. Thanks, OP!

we like it here & have been using it for about 3 years in our front loader. one thing i love about it is that the clothes no longer have a smell if i leave them in the washer a bit too long (overnight).
you do have to pretreat stains though!

It is a natural soap product that you use INSTEAD of detergent. Only takes one TBSP per load (HE and regular washers). Eliminates build-up and chemicals. You need NO fabric softner when you use this. I am a convert for life.

doesn't take away stains that well from the little time I've used it. any thoughts/suggestions?

I use spray and wash stain stick for stains. if that doesn't work, I do an oxiclean soak.

I tried Zout and it doesn't work as well.

I use an Ecover stain stick. I sometimes sun out stains (works quite well for some things). If there's a stubborn stain I do oxyclean (I use oxoBrite which is the eco friendly version) and if really stubborn the boiling/very hot water plus oxyclean trick from the BBB (don't use on things that can bleed or IME on silk screened prints)

Try adding 1/2 c. to 1 c. of baking soda to your washer. It acts as a bleach. I have noticed a huge difference in DD's clothes that have been spit up on.

Got mine too! It's in the jar. Never used this before, do you add the soap directly to the clothes or add it to the powder dispenser in front loader machines?
