Need theme for school "Gala" Fundraiser

Hi Ladies - we are trying to come up with a theme for our school fundraiser event, and I could use some ideas! It is an annual event, cocktail attire, usually at our school but this year may be at a hotel. As an example, last year's theme was "Around the World". The theme will be extended across all parts of the party - invitations, decorations, food, etc.

Any ideas you can share are welcome!

How about "GREEN PLANET" theme? You could then do invitations on brown paper, eco conscious decorations made by hand out of recyclable materials, fresh organic food such as salads, lots of fruit etc.

I volunteered at a school auction and their theme was "chair." It was called the 2010 Chair-ity Auction for Education

The logo for it was a chair with a dollar bill imprinted all over it (see attached). They had a specialty cocktail you could get called the Chair-Tini which cost more than the others and proceeds would go to the school.
Each class decorated a chair and put together a group of items to go with it and they were all auctioned off.

Wonderland? Vegas? Roaring '20s (could be fun to incorporate some $20 bills into this theme as well)?

What time of year will it be? You could always choose something seasonal like "Winter Wonderland" or "Secret Garden" (for a spring theme).

I have seen a "Portraits of Excellence" theme with many sized black and white prints of children from the school. I thought it was a unique theme and showcased the reason for the fundraiser - investment in the children.

Other themes included Casino, Kentucky Derby, Denim and Diamonds.

"Starry Night" and the "stars" are the children of the school. You could also decorate in an elegant star theme as well.
