I got the stand mixer last Christmas. I'm pondering putting the ice cream maker on this year's list. DS is allergic to milk and I am particularly thinking about making non-dairy ice cream.

Anyone have the ice cream maker attachment? Do you like it? How often do you use it? Do you think it is worth it? Anything else I should know?

Thanks!

I have it, have only used twice. Both times ice cream never got hard enough to eat immediately. I thought it kind of defeated the point. I had the bowl in the deep freeze for 3 days prior.

Ended up buying a cuisinart ice cream maker with extra bowl and love it.

I have it and we like it. It is on the small side.

Homemade ice cream will not be ready to eat out of any ice cream maker that I know of. All of them have instructions that say to transfer to a freezer safe dish and freeze to desired hardness.
