Hi,

My baby just turned 1 year old. I'm feeding her a variety of grains - she gets rice, pasta, oats, bread, cereal and puffs. I feel like crackers would be a good thing to add.

I'm looking for something healthy - what would that be?

whole grain crackers are good. My mom likes to offer DS melba toast.

I'm looking for ideas too. DS is 13 months now. He does not like eating anything that's too hard and dry though so I haven't tried crackers. I think it hurts his gums since he doesn't have many teeth.

Organic "Ritz" type crackers

I can get them for $2 a box on sale at my local grocery store. They aren't whole wheat, but they are are flaky and soft and fall apart in your baby's mouth, unlike harder (but healthier) crackers like Kashi. I don't think my baby could handle something harder than that. Also, plain whole wheat Annie's bunnie crackers are too hard for him too. He gags on them.

My baby (12 mos) gags on the "adult" crackers we have tried--even ones we thought were crumbly enough. The only crackery items we can rely on are baby ones--mum-mums or teething biscuits (we do the earth's best barley). He's fine w/ bread, bagels, hard rolls, pizza crust, o's, but can't do anything with a crackery texture.

Just recently offered DD the Annie's Whole Wheat crackers. She's only had it once, but she seems to enjoy them.
