I guess I need to get this baby a new carseat. My daughter's carseat is dated 2004! I've been looking at the Britax Roundabout. Thoughts on it? The fabrics look a little rough compared to the velvety covers I recall when I last was on the market for this kind of thing.

Yeah I am not in love with the Britax Roundabout 55 covers that are on the market now or even the Marathon 70, however the new BLVD covers are really pretty (I like the Blue/Grey one, the Paisley one, and Riviera). Target sells a velvety Roundabout 50 Classic, but it's girly pattern, but at least if you got that shell you could always go on Ebay (http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?LH_ItemCondition=2&_nkw=britax%20marathon%20car%20seat%20cover&_fln=1&_ssov=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282) and look for a Marathon cover to fit the seat, and then use the girly cover as the spare.

The original Roundabout (the one with the 40lb limit) has recently been discontinued but you can still get them so if you already have seats lined up for #3 to use when he outgrows the seat then you could go that route too and still have the velvety covers like Cowmoo.

Thanks. I did see that the Cowmoo is available but it's a little loud. We used to have the light blue "puppies" print and that was a bit more subtle. I'm registering for the Roundabout but will look into covers.

Smokey Pearl is really soft... http://www.amazon.com/Britax-Roundabout-Convertible-Smokey-Pearl/dp/B003OUWIJ4/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
And if you have a Babies R Us near you, they are likely to have a booklet with all the fabrics in it so you can feel them (The one in store is pretty soft, though....).
