Ok so I posted while back about protecting the car seat from smoke in DH's car and we have not purchased anything yet because B is still barely fitting in my SR22. But keeping the seat in the trunk is working really well, no smoke smell at all in it.

So I am considering getting a SR35 for his car. I feel like this is a total waste of money but would maybe be the best option until DH quits.

So my question ias how old was your DC when they outgrew the SR35?? Thanks!!

Leah made it to 19 months... http://picasaweb.google.com/joolstag/LeahInCarseats#5101172519647707202 (I didn't even buy it till she was 8 months old, and I still found those 11 months with it to be invaluable, we used it tons!)

And maybe some nicorette for dh? ;) (Seriously, I wish him luck quitting, I know it took my dad quite a few tries, but it was totally worth it!)

DD was 14 months but she was a BIG baby. I may have been able to eek out another month but DD was a chunky thing and I was literlly stuffing her into the seat.

DS2 fit in it at 21 months with room to grow (I was trying it out for DS3). DS3 I used it until about 14-16 months, but he still had room to grow in it when we stopped using it. We didn't need the convenience of it any longer, so I switched it out.

Check AlbeeBaby for good prices on the older models - SafeSeat1, Snugride32, etc. They have a couple models around $99-$120.

The lady that I got my Safeseat bought it when her DD was 6 mos. old or so and had outgrown the snugride and then used the Safeseat until her daugher was almost 2 (she was pretty small though). I think it would be a good investment if you are thinking about having another baby.

DD2 is 5 mos. and still happily riding in the Safeseat; however it might start to be a convertible when we are home here in the next month or two because it is getting quite heavy.

We have a SnugRide 32 and DS still fits in it at 15 mo. We've switched to convertibles because it was just too tough to carry him in it (His seat had to be moved from DH's car to sitter's car to my car everyday) and we got the convertibles at some pretty good prices. I'm pretty sure he'd be out of it by height by 18 mo though. He's probably 1 1/2 - 2" from the top of the shell now.

We have a Graco 30/32. I think you could estimate what age you could get to based on what what percentiles (mainly height) your daughter has been in. Like our son has been 25-50th for weight and 50-75th for height for most of his first year--he is now 12 mos and 21.5 lbs / 30 in. Based on this he'll reach 32 in around 16 mos. Of course torso vs leg length also factors in, but I think it's best to estimate your daughter's growth on her own curve.

:) I actually looked at that this am! Looks like he would max out the height at about 16 months......

The bad thing is we totaly have 2 months of Chantix in the medicine box he just hasn't. Used it!! Uggggggg.

So what's. The difference in the SR35 and the OnBoard Air35? Because I noticed today the OA has two different level bubbles depending on weight. So can you make it more upright?

Oh, I haven't measured the seatback on the Onboard...hmm... it might be as tall as the SR35, about 20". Either one can be as upright as you want (within reason, well, as upright as it will even allow, lol, just don't work on getting a newborn 45* angle and it's fine) for older babies....Oh, it's on Darren's review... looks tall! http://carseatblog.com/6101/safety-1st-onboard-35-air-quick-review-one-word-wow/

My DS outgrew our Snugride 32 at 12 months by length - his torso grew real fast - he was in 18 month onesies @ 6 months, plus he has a big head. PM'ing you...

DD is 11 months old and has an inch and a half of growth before she outgrows her SR35. She's long and lean. I plan to use it as long as possible because I adore it and its SOOO easy to use and install (especially with a 2 door). I also consider it an investment because I intend on having at least one more child within it's expiration period. If you can get one for @$100 I'd say go for it.

We made it to age 2 in the SafeSeat... also very nice for 2 Chicago winters. If you do go this route, I would consider looking at SafeSeat/SnugRide32s at Albee Baby, as they are often $100 or less (no sense buying a full-priced SR35... or if you're local, you could buy my SS1, hehe)

DS (on the short side) grew out of his SR32 by height at 18 months.

DD made it to 14ish mths, but she was 34" tall at 15mths and that is mostly torso.
