What's the latest on Acetaminophen vs. Ibuprofen while pregnant?

I seriously have not been keeping up with all the recalls and new recommendations in the last year.

We are TTC and I am late, but last test wasn't positive yet....so I'm in the early waiting stage. I have a pulled muscle and it occurred to me that I don't even know which pain reliever is safer to take in the first trimester anymore. I'm guessing my post-partum high dosage Ibuprofen is not the right choice.

I know I'll have to research all this stuff, but thought someone here could give me a quick answer to minimize my during-work-distraction time. TIA

Tylenol (generic Acetaminophen) is what you want to use. Not ibuprofen.

Thanks. That's what I used last time I was pregnant (and nothing else) but I remember hearing something about it being less safe, plus recent recalls, so wasn't sure if the rec had changed.

Hopefully I won't need anything.

Yep, no ibuprofen while you're pregnant. Tylenol is fine.
