Went to DSW for some brown boots today- ended up with these in black:

There didn't seem to be alot of options in brown. Most were black or gray. Are brown boots out of style?
I'm on the hunt to get a fitted leather(ish) jacket as well- was originally thinking brown but again not seeing as many options- mostly black. My jacket should match my boots right?
So ladies hit me with some budget friendly options here. I can take the boots back if I find something else I love.
Criteria-
Jacket- fitted/ figure flattering, looks nice when open, not loving the "cropped" style. I am open to other materials/colors as well if it would serve the same wardrobe function as a leather jacket. Size M or S most likely.
Boots- flat heel with some tread so I don't fall on my face chasing the kids around. comfortable. not too warm. Size 6.
