I keep seeing other women wearing this style of cardigan sweater, and I LOVE the look, but for the life of me, I can't find one to buy! I see a few of similar, but not *quite* right styles online in plus size, but not regular sizes:

http://www.onestopplus.com/1/1/244479-open-front-cardigan-sweater-plus-size.html

http://www.onestopplus.com/1/1/244475-ruffle-edge-ribbed-cardigan-sweater-plus-size.html

This one would be nice if it wasn't $150 cashmere, and if the drapey ruffles went further down the front, rather than stopping at just the neckline.

This is pretty cute, but it's not a sweater, looks like it's sweatshirt knit

Okay, so that gives you some idea of what I'm looking for. Sorry to be so picky :wink2:. Does anyone have the perfect open front cardigan?

There's a couple more in that style on there.

Oooh-Oooh! Nordstroms has one that is rayon/jersey, unfortunately not sweater fabric, but still pretty cute:

Check your TJmaxx.

I just bought (well, put on layaway until my b-day next month!) a cashmere lightly ruffled, longer-length sweater that was $59.

It was very similar to this one:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3109905?origin=category&resultback=0

except no belt or pockets. I'm somewhere around a size 16 and the XL size fit nicely. It's worth looking there and Marshalls because I've seen a lot of that style there.

Might be a little pricier than you want, but they have a bunch of different styles at Anthropologie that I love:

I've seen a lot at TJ Max. You're sure to find one in the $50 range if you look there, but it will be hit or miss. I have a hard time with this style not looking bulky on me. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I did see a great one at one point, but didn't buy it, and now I wish I had b/c I'm realizing you really have to try them on to see what they look like on your body.

I've been looking for a cardigan like this too. I was at Nordstrom Rack yesterday but didn't find anything I liked. I need to check out TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Browsing and trying on clothes is so time consuming, especially with the limited hours I have while DS2 is in preschool.

I totally hear you. I was in Marshalls yesterday and the kids were going nuts in the dressing room. I just needed to see the mirror so we could get out of there! It made me wonder if the suckers I picked up at the bank (food dyes) were making them act crazy. I need to keep a stash of my yummy earth suckers in my purse.

I just think it's shopping that gets them crazy. When DS was a baby he'd start screaming his head off the instant I crossed the door into any clothing store. Once I was shopping at AT Loft and he was screaming like crazy so I rushed in the dressing room, I finally checked out and paid, as soon as we crossed the door DS was happy and quiet, and after half a block realized they had made a mistake and not taken the discount off a dress, I turned around, and as I crossed the AT Loft door again the screaming resumed instantly. I swear, DH must have trained him so I couldn't shop much.

I got a couple at Nordstrom Rack for about $25. They had many, many kinds. I love the ones I got. I've seen this style just about everywhere including at Old Navy and Target!

What were the brands of the ones you got? I just remembered that I did find 1 I liked, but it was hand wash only, and I can't deal with that. Maybe I should go back and browse some more.

Yeah, there's definitely that. Trying to blame the suckers :ROTFLMAO:
We were walking into Nordstrom Rack and DS immediately exclaims, "I HATE this place!!" I almost laughed at the force and immediacy of his expression, but It's cramped, takes time to look through things, crowded, etc.

REally like that first one. Inc is (or used to be, haven't bought it in a long time) brand.

I really love this style- but every one I try on IRL makes me look like a bag lady. Very baggy (even in the right "size" and unflattering) Anyone else short/petite and able to pull this look off? I'll keep looking cuz I am drawn to them on the rack.

Thanks everyone! Now I know what stores to shop at next week when the kids are in school! Hopefully the baby will be a willing shopper ;)

No, I have a hard time too. I'm 5'4" and some of them that are long or have a lot of ruffles overwhelm me or just seem too big. I tend to look better in the ones with one layer of ruffles or shorter (at the hip) or a less chunky fabric.
