How many naps does your 6-7 month old have a day? My DD is sleeping 3 times a day. For about 45min-1.5 hrs at a time. I really wish she would sleep longer and only for 2 times a day. Anyone else have a 6 month old and what was their napping like?

My six month old is doing two naps. Typically she naps from 10 am to noon and from 2 pm to 3:30 pm. That's approximate of course. But she did not settle into that until about age 5 1/2 months. And before that she had no schedule at all for naps, it was all random.

My 6mo does 2 to 3 naps a day. It depends on how long she naps for. I would say a "normal" day is three 30 minute naps. I wish it was more like two 1 hour long naps.

when Pac-Baby was that age, he did 3 naps a day. even nowadays at 9mo he does 2 "main" naps (mid-morning and afternoon, 45min-1.5 hr each) and most of the time has a 3rd short one in the evening.

i agree though, it does suck when they only nap for 45 minutes at a time..would rather get 2 long naps than 3 or 4 short ones. i get the frustration. would be so much easier if naps were longer.

DS dropped to two naps right at 6 months. I read somewhere about the "2-3-4" rule. Most want to take the 1st nap 2hrs after they wake up, the 2nd nap 3hrs after they wake up from the 1st nap, and bedtime 4hrs after waking from the 2nd nap.

DS catnapped at that age, 30-45min. When he turned 9months, his naps lasted 1-1.5hrs. Then it turned into a "3-4-4" schedule for him.

DD usually takes 2 naps a day, although she might do a 3rd if her two naps are really poor. Typically, her naps last 30 to 45 minutes. She just isn't a day time sleeper. She is a great night-time sleeper though, so I am grateful for that.

At 6 months, DS was still napping 3 times a day, occasionally 4! But he settled down into 2-2 hour naps around 9 months. Now he is working on going down to one at 17 months. It used to drive me nuts, I couldn't get anything done in between the naps when he had 3! But it will change soon enough and you will get into a good schedule. I will kind of miss the rhythm of our 2 nap days when he goes down to one...
