So my feet have grown since I last worked. The shoes I bought for the interview apparently are not good for all day wear (I learned today...).
Can anyone suggest a nice brand (or actual shoe) that I can wear with work clothes that has a (low) heel. I need some form of heel because I am short and don't want to get all of my pants altered ;) Oh, and the cheaper the better! I definitely need black, other colors can wait...
I need to wear them wiith nice trousers or a skirt. So not a casual shoe.
Any thoughts?
TIA!

I've found Aerosoles are pretty comfortable and reasonably priced. Some of their styles are more fashionable than others.

I have some Aerosoles. I also like Sofft. They are pricey at full price, but I have a pair of heels I got on clearance at DSW and I wear them all the time. Dressy with a little retro vibe, and super comfy, plus they will last a lot longer than Aerosoles.

Marshalls and TJ Maxx also has Sofft at good prices.

I just saw some Aerosoles at Marshalls today. They have a great selection of cute work shoes.

I like Sofft, and Clarks also makes similar shoes. I get mine at DSW.

Seconding Sofft and Clarks (Esp the Indigo line of clarks). I also like some of the John Fluevogs.

I have these in the gray color:

They're wedges, but I wear them to work regularly and I canNOT wear heels for the life of me. They are super comfortable. I'd try any Alfani Step N Flex shoes based on my experience with these.

something very similar to these:

I find all 3 very comfortable.

These are my shoes of choice (both in black & brown) I find they go with virtually EVERYTHING. While they are not necessairly "cheap" it is a trusted brand, and they are extremely comfy: http://www.zappos.com/dansko-marcelle-cordovan-cabrio?zlfid=111

How cute are these
Sofft pumps (Selan and Milano)? The heel looks nice and wide/stable, but not too chunky that it looks clunky and not too high. I don't wear heels well, but I would totally get these (if not for the price).

Where do you guys get your Sofft shoes? They look perfect for me. I need wides and a modest, wider heel. I see them on the Macy's website for around $100. Is that the going price, or do you find them cheaper? Who has the best selection? I don't see a lot on Shoebuy or DSW. Thanks!

I got a pair of clogs from Marshalls for $40 a couple of months ago. I've seen a whole bunch of styles at Marshalls and TJ Maxx recently. I might have also seen them at Nordstrom Rack, but their prices were not as low as Marshalls/TJ Maxx.

Really?! Of course, they prob don't have wides. I was just at Marshalls the other day and saw *a lot* of cute shoes, but only in reg width!!

Strangely, I have seen Sofft at DSW B&M even when there is hardly any selection online. I find that DSW varies greatly between what is in the store and what is online, and even from store to store.
I also love 6pm.com. No free shipping or returns, but if you are pretty sure you know your size, their prices are great.
Another huge Sofft fan. Hadn't bought shoes in awhile, and picked up two pairs at DSW last month-- one black with a lower heel, boxier toe, one red with a higher heel, narrower toe :)

Great tip. I saw some at Marshalls today with a t-strap, and I really liked them, but they weren't in wide. I have to check a DSW store.

I like Circa by Joan & David. Endless.com has them a lot.

I just got these at Marshalls for $25 in gray flannel. I guess the fabric was forgiving enough that I was able to get the regular width. They are so cute and don't feel like as high of a heel as they are:
http://www.amazon.com/Aerosoles-Womens-Cinch-Worm-Stacked/dp/B000GAZTOG
This ones only have a small heel, but come in wide and look cute
you can get them at macy's or macys.com

Looks like you have lots of suggestions, but I'll throw another in the mix. I got 2 pair of naturalizers when I was pg and wore them through the pregnancy and they were super comfy. Low heel, but works great with slacks and skirts. They're a bit pricey, but I often find them on sale. Mine are similar to this style (they don't make mine anymore)

I bought these tonight. They have a nice gel insert so they are pretty comfortable. I normally wear a lot of Dansko clogs but needed something more appropriate to wear with a dress for an upcoming evening wedding. Comfortable, simple but still has a little bit of interest beyond a basic pump.

Well, my TJ Maxx had some black Aerosoles boots and black Sofft pumps. Neither were my absolute favorites, but if I make it through the week without blisters, then they will be great :) I still need to be on the lookout for more shoes, but now that I have some suggestions I am better prepared. Thanks everyone!
ps - there are a ton of supercute suggestions on this thread, but until I get my first paycheck I need to stick with what I can find at the Maxx or Marshalls!
