Another Family Portrait

We are doing fall photos for a family portrait - outside. Hoping that it is not too cold on Halloween weekend in the NY area because I don't have a second layer picked out. I am thinking that we will all be wearing jeans, but I am open to a skirt/dress with high boots.

Here is the link to my 6 year old's shirt . The actual shirt is the darker olive green madras plaid, with navy blue and burgandy/rust/wine. He could wear a solid navy blue t-shirt underneath it for an extra layer.

DH may be wearing a solid olive green button down shirt....at least that is my plan for now. Or it may be solid navy.

I had originally been looking for a long cardigan sweater, but found this sweater in size M from Banana Republic. I was attracted to the color (clay). When I tried it on, it seems to cut across my hips in an unflattering way. It would probably look better if I lost about 5 lbs from my belly. I like the long and lean look, so maybe a better option for me is one of the longer cardigan sweater coats?
