Harry Potter Party Recap

Colwyn's Harry Potter birthday party was today, and it was pretty successful. A few glitches, but nothing major, and the kids had a blast. Muggle Quidditch was really fun, especially watching the grownups pretend to be the Snitch and having the seekers chase them. Potions was a big hit, no surprise there.. anything messy and fizzy and gooey goes over well, I think.

i scrolled thru all the pics and my jaw just kept dropping...all i can say is WOW. just WOW. :bowdown: you are amazing! loved it all. and that cake was awesome BTW. loved the little cauldrons too. seriously this all could totally go into a magazine or something!

Thanks guys. :) It was really a lot of fun. If I wasn't such a big HP fan myself, I wouldn't have gone nearly as crazy. A bunch of the adults there were also big HP fans, too, which is why I did things that might've gone over the kids' heads (the Leaky Cauldron food, among others). I always feel half-bad throwing crazy parties because I hate to make other people feel uncomfortable, but I love entertaining and I don't get many opportunities. :)

WOW! Rachel, I was really really hoping you'd post some pictures and a recap of the harry potter party you were planning. It looks like a wild success! I loved it all! ..the olivander wands, robes, hats, and cauldrons for everyone! so.totally.awesome!! The potions class and muggle quidditch, plus all of the props and attention to detail - AMAZING! I would have loved to have been part of it.

Maybe next time I'll invite some of you local BBBers. :) It's always good to have guests that really appreciate the theme. I've always thought it would be fun to have an adult friendly party, too, and play HP Scene It. My house is too small to accomodate that, though.

I will eventually complete the HP blog, with how-to's and a full recap of the party.
