I just pumped and when I looked down......i noticed one nipple was bleeding a little.

Do i need to dump that bottle? Initially i'm thinking yes...but if DS had been nursing...then i never would have known!

WWYD? I'm able to pump just enough to cover his 3 bottles of daycare (and even that they are 4-5oz each).

I've had that happen before and no, I didn't dump the bottle. As you said, if baby was nursing you'd never know.

I've found nipple cream at night helps quickly heal any cuts/cracks before the next day's pumping sessions begin.

That happened to me in the beginning and the pediatrician said don't need to dump the bottle.

I had DH feed it to DD--however, the next day there was a red ring in th bottom of the bottle because the blood settled. DH was afraid to feed it to her that day so he used freezer stash. Just FYI for tomorrow.

ITA with the PPs. It is totally ok and not a problem.

Just wanted to say, "ouch!" and hope that you don't have this happen much.

Okay, I'm quite sure this is TMI, but during the first weeks BFing DD I had an awful crack that led to mastitis and big globs of yellow gunk would come out when I pumped (and some blood too). I was being treated for the mastitis and the LC I could feed DD the milk even with THAT! I actually strained it to get the globs out but couldn't throw the milk out after how hard it was to procure!

I've been having considerable trouble with breastfeeding . Luckily, I am very fortunate to live near a "Breastfeeding Resource Center" so I have been taking full advantage. I had a similar problem as you and they said absolutely no need to dump that milk.
