I really want to start putting myself together when I leave the house. I figured lipgloss is a good way to start. Can you recommend your favorite lipgloss?

Since it is the only makeup I wear I splurge. I like Vincent Longo, Chanel and Nars.

I agree, it's one of those places that I spend a little more $$. Mascara and powder I get from Target/CVS....but lipgloss I get from MAC. It's not sticky and they have awesome colors!

Mid-end, MAC and Clinique make good ones.

Drugstore: Revlon makes the best glosses, although Maybelline aren't bad.

I LOVE Buxom lipgloss. I love the colors, staying power, and--best of all--the way it makes my lips feel tingly and full! I buy mine at Ulta or Sephora. I think it usually runs about $15 or so.

MAC Lipglass in Revealing, I think it is stick but in a good quality way. $16

I like Sephora's brand Lipstick, the Sheer Type, I use G15 & G20. One is dark and one is light but you can put them on quickly for sheer & shine w/o lipliner or fuss. $12

I also like Neutrogena Lipgloss. Some other drugstore ones have funny tastes!
Which reminds me...who can wear L'Oreal? It has such a funny taste and smell to me.

I really have never worn any makeup before until I met my friend who sells Mary Kay. I have 2 MK lip glosses (http://www.marykay.com/maryegregory/color/lips/marykaynourishinelipgloss/default.aspx) (Gold Rush & Sweet Raisin) and 1 lip liner (http://www.marykay.com/maryegregory/color/lips/marykaylipliner/default.aspx) (Neutral) that can go with both. I have tried the MK liquid lip color (http://www.marykay.com/maryegregory/color/lips/marykayliquidlipcolor/default.aspx) too and may finally decide to get 1. They tend to last longer than other lipsticks I ever tried as they seem to stain your lips but not like MF Lipfinity which I used for my wedding which I had to scrub off.

I like Mary Kay too. It doesn't have a weird scent/flavor and the colors are lovely. I have Coral Rose and Starry lip gloss. Both go nicely over MK Sweet Nectar lipstick.

Love, love, love the NYC brand lipgloss!! You can easily find it at Target or Wal-Mart. I've tried a lot of name brand/high end and drugstore brand lipglosses and this is my absulute favorite! Only about $2 a tube...can't beat that!

My absolute fav is Tarte double ended lipgloss.

I get mine at Sephora (in-store) but this is what is looks like: http://www.dermstore.com/product_Double+Ended+Lip+Gloss_12506.htm (Rhett & Scarlet!!) not sticky and does not taste funky!!! LOVE IT!

My runner up is Chanel Glossimer. No bad taste, not sticky, great colors, and it lasts a long time. More expensive though.

I have used MAC and was happy with it, but now have Clinique and like it so much more! Personally, I have a hard time finding the right color in a drugstore, so i end up wasting tons of money on tubes of "cheap" lipgloss that never get worn! (Is it just me who totally can't tell from the tube how it will show up on my lips?)

I like going to a makeup counter and having someone recommend colors. I think part of why I like my Clinique more than the MAC is simply because the color is perfect.

I have tried many, but keep going back to Clinique Superbalm. I wear rasberry. Itʻs very moisturizing but not sticky at all. The colors are very flattering and the price is right. One tube lasts forever.

I really like Clinique and L'oreal. BodyShop has some nice ones most years around Christmas. I just bought the Sephora house brand today, but haven't tried it yet.

Burt's Bees lip gloss. I like the Fig color but they have lots of choices. Better ingredients than some other choices and it feels refreshing, not sticky.

I like Stila. It's a bit sticky though. Otherwise, I just buy cheap drugstore stuff.

I like Neutrogena Lip Sheers. Comes in a tube like a lipstick but very sheer and smooth. I have it in Ruby Bliss which is a very flattering red.

I'm a huge fan of Origins Once Upon a Shine lip gloss for everyday...sheer and not sticky.

Mac Lipglass, or Chanel Glossimer as a close second.

Another vote for MAC Lipglass. Lovechild is my favorite--I keep a tube in every makeup bag and bathroom drawer in my house.

Thanks all for your suggestions! DH is going to watch DS tomorrow so that I can go treat myself to a lipgloss. I'm going to let the experts at Bloomingdales pick out the color. I plan on stopping by the counter at Nars, Chanel and Mac. I'll report back my findings! Thanks again for all your suggestions!

just wanted to post an update to my lipgloss quest. i tried on mac, nars, chanel anad one other brand that i cant remember. with each one, i walked around the mall/department store for a bit to see how the gloss felt and how long it stayed on. hands down, the winner in my opinion, was chanel. i bought the glossimer and ive never been this happy with a makeup purchase! totally worth the extra money.

Good to know, I'll try it at some point. Glad you found one!
