Ds2 is going to a b-day party for a friend turning 3. She loves baby dolls and most anything girly. I want to be able to include a gift receipt so B&M store is preferable. $20 is my max, would prefer $15.
TIA! I just don't know this demographic!

I go with one of those Melissa and Doug magnetic dress-up-kits.

our dd is around that age and loves books or anything crafty, she also likes those coloring books with the non-toxic water colors attached.

I had the Target Circo brand one of those in my cart today and I second guessed that idea!

Can you think of anything safe and age appropriate? I had the craft idea too but the kits were all 5+yo.

The M&D birthday cake play food would be prefect for a 3 yr old. Every child that has come over to our house, boy or girl has loved playing with it.

Pretend play is big for 3 year old girls (dress up, play food, etc.).
You should be able to find this tea set in B&M stores: http://www.amazon.com/Green-Toys-Tea-Set/dp/B001543YEY/ref=sr_1_13?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1288926966&sr=1-13

We've been given multiple sets of the magnetic dolls and they all get played with.
My Little Pony stuff is popular at that age.
M&D Play Slice and Bake Cookies are popular here.

DD just got something like this for her 3rd birthday, and it's been a big hit:

Ours is actually a dollhouse, and all the magnets are dollhouse people and accesssories, but it's the same idea. DD really loves it. And I like that it's portable and self-contained :p

I think those ideas all sound good. My girls really like the Pillow Pets they got for their birthday, my Ross had them for $15.

construction paper, stick glue, stickers of all sorts!, non-toxic water colors and markers. those are all things our dd really likes, i cant really get her magnet type things yet because even at almost 3 she still sometimes puts things in her mouth and i cant trust it.
