The mamas in my playgroup are starting our own basement music class for the kiddos in the hopes they'll enjoy it as much as $$$ group classes.

Any suggestions of good durable instruments for toddlers (1-2 yo)? Do you have any favorite stores for them beyond Amazon?

We'll definitely have some of the egg shakers because those are really popular in the classes now and we got this set as a gift:

Thanks in advance!! :)

Check out westmusic.com. I've gotten DDs tambourines, bells and egg shakers from there and they're great. They have tons of other things as well. Good luck!

We have the Melissa & Doug "Band in a Box" and it's held up well.

Amazon (Remo drums)
Local music store
Local toy store
Target (First Act Guitars - but check them closely because some versions are very well made and some are total junk. The non-painted ones tend to be better, but not always. )

Love the Remo Drum that another mama here recommended. Everybody is always impressed with the sound quality vs. toy drums.
