Just curious. Most of the Catholic churches I have belonged to in my life have collected about $10,000 weekly, and have topped out at right about $15,000 for Easter and Christmas. One Catholic church we belonged to in Orange County when we first moved here collected about $15,000 a week and closer to $25,000 on major holidays. None of that however has ever been as much as the American Baptist church I attended in college where the collections on a normal weekend were $40,000+ .

FWIW, in my hometown of 60,000 people there was only one Catholic church. In my current area of Long Beach there are 5 Catholic churches in a 5 mile radius of my house, and Long Beach has almost 500,000 people, plus a couple of other cities right next to it with more than 50,000 people. The American Baptist church was in San Diego.

We were recently attending a North American Baptist church and weekly giving was $45 to 60K. Then they fired the pastor and giving dropped by half. :X

We also have attended one of the big Harvest Bible Chapels and their giving is even more.

*laughs* Our annual budget is between $75,000 & $100,000. So, uhm, no where CLOSE to what y'all are talking about. :) Averages between $1000-2000 a week.

Ours too. But it's a small church and we live in a low COL area.
