Prior to daylight savings time my 19month old son was on a great schedule. Awake at 7:30, nap at 1-2:45ish and bedtime at 8. Rather than things getting better, they're getting worse. Sun was ok, not his normal length, but pretty close, with night sleep and naps, but today he woke at 6, and took a short nap.

So, what do you do to help your toddler adjust? Do I just go by the clock and power through even though it appears that he's becoming over tired ( shorter and shorter night sleep and naps usually indicate he's getting overtired)? Do I adjust his schedule based on how long he's been awake, and if I do, how will we ever get back on track to our old schedule? How long does it usually take your LO to adjust?

I always start making 15 minute adjustments a few days before the time change. I like that approach better than just going "cold turkey"
