Suggestions on best way to buy concert tickets

It's been a really long time since I've gone to a concert and I want to surprise DH with Kenny Chesney tickets which is in June but are going on sale this week. Is ticketmaster the best place? I know his website says to pay $25 to join the fan club that gets you tickets earlier? Anyone familiar with this and know whether its worth it or not?

I think the cheapest place to get them is from the box office of the venue, you don't have to pay the outrageous Ticketmaster fees!

It'll probably sell out unless it's a huge venue, I think joining the fan club for tickets actually makes sense, I know people who've done it and it really helped them get tickets.
