I like to do gift cards for teachers (I used to teach...they're the best!!!), but I've never come up with a cute way of wrapping them up. Ideas? Once I got a gift card wrapped inside a mug with cellophane wrap. It was cute, but I didn't use/need the mug. In the past I've shoved them inside an envelope, and sent them to school with my kid. I had my kid write a note. BUT - I always worry that an envelope will be misplaced on that crazy day.

What do you do?

For Christmas last year, I knitted a cup cozy, slipped it onto a starbucks cup and stuck the gift card inside. For the end of the year, I sewed this (http://www.createforless.com/Stitchin+Post+Little+Wallet+Sewing+Card+Pattern/pid158804.aspx) and stuck the card inside.

I've written notes on notecards and put them in there. One year I did shutterfly note cards with a picture of ds on them. This year I bought coin purses off Coldwater Creek's clearance page and may use those.

I don't sew, so I bought a handful of these on etsy (they were half price at the time):

I pick up the small gift bags from the dollar store, and with some tissue paper put them in the gift bags.

I have to say, a cute gift I got from student was a kitchen whisk filled with Hershey's kisses and the card said "I whisk you a Merry Kissmas", the student wrote it out and it was darling. You can always use another whisk and who doesn't like Hershey's kisses!

Based upon popular demand, we purchase GCs for teacher gifts. I also like to present them in something pretty, if possible. I have used Vera Bradley cases to wrap the gift cards when on nice sale (around $5), something like these:

For group gifts, when serving as homeroom mom, I have placed various gift cards on a fabric covered photo board (very inexpensive at Hobby Lobby with a coupon), along with festive bows, or in a personalized LandsEnd tote.

I just slip ours into a card.... Boring, but it works. I usually include one of our family Christmas card pictures, too. And have the child "write" something for the teacher. (DS is able to sign his name, but that's about it, so basically, they get to scribble.)

:yeahthat:

If I'm feeling extra creative, I'll make a card for the preschool teacher. But I have a whole supply of random, unusued holiday cards from years past that are perfect for this. :) Older DD usually makes the cards for her teachers.
