DH gardens and is always taking food scraps out to the garden. I was thinking of getting him a kitchen compost container (preferably a countertop size) and wondered if anyone has one that they recommend.

We have this one we got at the Container store and we love it.

It has a removable plastic insert which is dishwasher safe, and it is easy to open (press button with one finger) and is totally airtight. It also looks great on our kitchen counter!

Oh, that's a nice one. You had me at "dishwasher safe insert."

What size do you have?

I know! :heartbeat:

I think we have the large (9.5 inches high) - it is worth it because it fills up FAST, especially if you do a lot of cooking. We empty it every 2-3 days into our outdoor compost pile (you wouldn't want it around longer because even though it is airtight and doesn't smell, it grosses you out after a while.)
