DH's holiday party is on a boat this year, cruising around Newport harbor. I want to get something nice to wear. Was thinking just a regular holiday-style (so something sparkly, or red or green or something) cocktail dress and I'll just get some kind of wrap to go over it for the cold.
Maybe something that goes with tights and some kind of suede bootie? (thinking a little of the cold here) Maybe that's too casual, dunno.
Has anyone gone holiday outfit shopping yet?

We are attending a holiday party in Newport Beach in a couple weeks that my boss invites us to every year. For 2007 and 2008, it was on the Queen Mary so it was a bit more formal -- I wore a nice cocktail dress each time. Last year it was in the Stadium Club at Angel Stadium so I wore black dress pants with a magenta satin 3/4 sleeve blouse with a nice pair of chandelier earrings. This year it's at a restaurant in Newport Beach and they specifically mentioned "holiday party casual" as the dress code as last year so many people were confused on what to wear. I'm thinking black dress pants again with a nice blouse and heels. Although the running joke among a few of us right now is that we're all going to show up in ugly Christmas theme sweaters and jeans with flipflops. LOL

Yes!
I love that gold one. Probably wouldn't work with my figure but I really like that dress. (The shoes too.)

I like the pink one too. I think that one would work for me.

I need to find the knock-off versions though. ;) I have had luck at Macy's and Norstroms before- I probably just need to go check them out in person.
It can be hard finding something that isn't "prom/winter formal".

For some reason I just want to walk in there on super high heels and look fabulous. :p
No Christmas sweaters here! ;0

Aww, sorry! Maybe these will make it up to you? (I promise, elves, snowmen, and penguins aren't involved!)

I love the color on this one, don't know if you'll like the ruffles:

Haha! I really like that second one- all wrapped up like a present. :)
And I hadn't thought of Ann Taylor. I do want to stay away from slutty- Ann Taylor would be good for that.
