They are both only okay, IMO. Chef Mickey's has a very high energy atmosphere, whereas Cape May is more laid-back and calm. At Cape May, the characters are dressed in beach/swim gear. At Chef Mickey's, they are au naturale.

Chef Mickey's is VERY popular so if you don't have a ressie yet, you may or may not be able to get one.

I only have experience with Cape May. Our breakfast was fine and we didn't have to wait long to see the characters. It didn't seem chaotic and we were able to get our breakfast quickly. One benefit is the proximity to Epcot. We walked right over after breakfast.

We did Chef Mickey's, and it was fine - it is pretty hectic, but the characters do all come around to your table. They seat by "room" so all of the tables around you are filled up at about the same time. When you get there, they give you a pager and then you stand in line for a photo with "Chef Mickey" (he's the only one who doesn't come around to the tables). By the time you finish with your photo, they usually seat you.

All of the characters are dressed in "chef"/cooking attire - including Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto.

We stayed at the Contemporary, so Chef Mickey's was easy (since it was just right downstairs).
