Trying to decide if this would be a good gift for DS2 - he won't actually get to use it until summer since we're in the northeast. Thoughts? TIA

As soon as they can stand. Our sand/water table is the best thing I've ever bought. DS used it from 18 months on (still likes it at almost 6) and DD gets in there too. Any little toys/trucks/cars/digging tools/beach toys etc.. work for hours of entertainment. If you have somewhere to have it inside you could fill it with rice or dry noodles like they do at our daycare until it's time to move it outside.

I think by the time summertime arrives & DS#2 will be about 18 mos, he'll be fine to use a sandbox or sand table with supervision.

Our OT recommended also using it when they were able to stand & take it indoors & use pasta or beans instead of sand so you could definitely do that 'til warmer weather.

My kids love the sandbox, I think it's a great idea and good timing. Nice to have a gift that will be for later, especially since your DC have January bdays!
