We bought a pretty small one (8 x 8), a few years ago. It's one of the best $99 we've ever spent. It's small enough to set up in the house if we slide furniture back, but also sturdy enough to take outside. It's a great (contained) space to let the kids burn off some energy :). Both of our kids can jump at the same time. We've also sent it with them to the babysitter's house at times, and it's been handy for birthday parties.

Ours has held up very well. I bought one for my niece several years ago, and my brother and SIL stored it in their garage---evidently small rodents like the taste, because hers had several holes when they pulled it out of storage. Ours is small enough that I store it in a Rubbermaid storage bin.

I don't know much about the really big ones, but our little one has been great.

We have just moved, and I can't get to ours now since it's in the aaaaaaagggghhh room (you know, the one with all the unpacked boxes--the one we close the door to and pretend it isn't there :)).

But, it looks just like this one

Colors are slightly different, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a logo at the top--I'm not sure it was a "brand name" bounce house. We bought it on a whim at a KB Toys outlet about 3-4 years ago.

I got a huge (20'x20') one when DS was one years old as his bday present. It was $1,000 on a 50% off sale. I figured if I spent $200 to rent one for his birthday every year from 1-10 I'd come out way ahead. And I have been glad to have it. We usually only use it on his bday and maybe one or two other times per year, but it is a fun special treat and all his friends think it is so cool that we own our own. I"m sure if I more kids, they'd get more use out of it.

We got a Step2 one when my daughter was around 2.5 years old. I am not sure this particular one is made anymore, but we LOVE it. It is 12'x12' and has a little pinnacle climbing thing in the middle. It's big enough that DH or I can get in there with her. She can have friends in there as well. I also bought some ball pit balls that she likes to play with in there as well.

We live in Texas, so I wanted one that had a canopy for the hot summer sun. I happened to get in on a 50%off sale, so I got it for $250. We have gotten our money's worth out of it the past 2 years.

This is the one we have: http://www.step2.com/media/pdfs/784900_info.pdf

Bounce houses are 25% off at TRU today! I just sent an email to 2 sets of grandparents asking to donate. Was that a good idea?
