Cute! We might need that! A friend built the full size version for DD, and fair warning, it is HUGE. DS has the black Ikea Hemnes bed, and I was thinking it would be similar in size, but it really is tall by comparison, and much higher off the floor. We never needed a railing for DS, but we had to get a Go Bedbug bumper for DD. He modified the design a little to use hardware that will allow us to take the bed apart to move it and I really recommend you do that.

I want one for DH and me :) DD currently sleeps in our old queen sized bed which is really high off the floor. DS1 went right into that one when he was 3 and then DD and DS1 switched beds after our move...she's been in it since 3.5.

I like the adult sized cottage beds for us :) Good idea about making it capable of being disassembled!

The one your friend built is super cute!
