Other than re-painting the door? DS went to town with a Sharpie on one of our white 6 panel interior doors, and Magic Eraser isn't doing a thing. It is an olllld Magic Eraser, probably 4 years old - do I just need to buy a new one and try? Any other ideas? Thanks!

Try buying a new Magic Eraser before thinking about repainting.

You can try isosopryl alcohol as well. I'm pretty sure I've used it to get rid of Sharpie on something.

Mr. Clean Magic Erser will get it off.

Acetone and isopropyl alcohol will remove Sharpie but it may also remove the paint. We use both to remove Sharpie from glassware in the lab. I would give it a try if the Magic Eraser doesn't work. If nothing else it will remove the dark sharpie marks so that you will need fewer coats of paint.
Just make sure the area you are working in is well ventilated. Acetone and IPA aren't particularly toxic but the fumes can give you a headache.
