Digital camera for kids

My sister is looking at getting our oldest who is 7 a digital camera and I remember some time ago last year there was a thread where people wrote in their opinions as well as any deals as we came closer to the holidays.

Please let me know your thoughts, suggestions and any deals you are aware of.
