Does anyone have a steam dryer? I am trying to figure out if it is a great feature or just a gimmick/something else to break...

I have one. It's the Maytag Bravos version. Unless I'm accidentally using it without intending to, I don't know if I've ever used in a year +. I use a "refresh" cycle if the clothes have been sitting in there overnight (or longer :wink2:) but I don't know if that has steam or not...hmmm.

So basically, I'm no help!

We looked at it but didn't end up buying it. I asked the Sears sales guy if there was a difference between the steam dryer and putting a damp towel (or anything really) into the dryer to get rid of wrinkles. FWIW, he said now.

Thank you both. I was looking at the Maytag Bravos, but I will get a lower end model for now. DH will be happy :)

Never knew about the damp towel trick. May have to try that.

We have the Maytag Neptune Drying Center (http://www.epinions.com/reviews/pr-Maytag_MCE8000AY_Standard_Electric_Dryer). It's fantastic and steams DH's uniform quickly and effciently.

i have the lg steam dryer and ive used it 2 times in the last 2 years. i didnt care for it at all. after the cycle my sweater still felt damp and i had to do a normal dry cycle. if i could go back i would skip that option without blinking twice.

I have the LG one too. I tried it once. Didn't look like it did anything.

I have a Samsung and love it. I don't have to iron anything!

We have a LG steam dryer and DH loves it. He uses it all the time for his work items.

I have the Bravos, and I don't think it does a darn thing either. I was bummed, b/c it was the main reason I bought that set. I will say that the "wrinkle control" option is awesome though!

We just got an Electrolux. I use the refresh cycle (with steam) daily. I'm just not good at getting laundry out of the dryer quickly and it really helps!
