I've been meaning to ask this, and the other sweater washing post reminded me. When the instructions say "dry flat," how do you dry it? I end up hanging things because I don't have anywhere to put sweaters to dry flat.

Usually I avoid anything that can't be machine-dried, unless I absolutely LOVE it or I can use Dryel with it.

I always dried on my hanging rack, trying to keep as flat as possible to avoid over-stretching. But I was getting tired of all the creases on my clothes from the rack's wires, so I recently purchased this: http://www.amazon.com/Bajer-Design-Sunbeam-Drying-Rack/dp/B000MIREUY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1290105849&sr=8-3

There are lots of flat mesh drying racks like that. Some, like this one, can go over your bathtub.

I have one of those but it's too small to fit across my tub. It always falls when I try to use it. Though in the picture, it looks like they have the strap clipped so it bends a little -- I wonder if it would fit inside the tub like that, on the floor. I'll have to try it!

I use the wooden drying rack and lay the item over the top, to avoid as many rack creases as possible. I usually fluff my air dried clothes on very low for a few minutes to soften them a little bit and get the creases out.

I have that flat mesh rack too. If I need more space I put a thick towel over the ironing table and put the sweaters on top.
