Today is actually their secret pre-sale for those with gap/br credit cards, so I'm intending to go there later today and use my groupons and hopefully get the extra 45% off, but I'm not optimistic about it.

I don't know if today is just for cardholders, I received notice of it since I am a cardholder, but it's worth trying even if you're not.

At a previous 45%-off-for-cardholders event, I was unable to use my Groupon in conjunction with the store sale -- I was told it was "either/or." I liked the Groupon deal, but I had the hardest time actually using it because I only really felt motivated to do hardcore shopping at Gap when there was a big sale going on, and the Groupon wouldn't work on top of those sales. I finally spent it on a pair of full-price maternity jeans that I needed "immediately" because all of my other maternity jeans were suddenly too tight. :(

Thanks! I went this morning and got ds woody pj's that were marked down to $7 to start with, a pair of pants and a puppy he wouldn't part with. I finally bought myself a pair of jeans that are totally comfy and fit perfect too! I was in desperate need of pants!

It was a good deal on sweaters yesterday, since they were all 40% off. I got 2 sweaters and a little blue elephant as filler and paid $1.

At my Gap they said that since the sweaters were a 40% off promotion that I could not get an additional 40% off with the flash sale. Did you get 40% off on top of the 40% off price?

I was told the same thing--I was originally going to buy a bunch of sweaters in larger sizes for DS since it seemed I could get the 30% off sweaters (it was 30 in our local store) and use the 40% discount, but the cashier (after checking with her manager) said absolutely not, so most of them went back and I only got what I 'needed' for gifts.
