Company holiday party dress help

I was at the Gap today and got this in black because it was only $19 with the 45% off:

Now I'm wondering if I can dress this up and wear it to our company holiday party, which is a no-dinner casino-themed party starting at 7:30pm. Opinions? Too casual? And if it would work, do I just wear black tights with it? Shoes? If it helps I'm a size 2, 5'6''. The dress hits closer to my knee (maybe a couple inches above my knee) than mid-thigh (as shown on the model). I bought it because it did a fabulous job of hiding my belly bulge.

I totally would wear that. Casino night doesn't have to be too flashy, but you might think about accessories that can add some "bling" to dress up the outfit. Some chandelier earrings or a sparkly bracelet?

I think the challenge is what to do on the bottom half. Opaque tights would probably be the warmest option!

Thanks! I don't have pierced ears (yeah I know, I'm weird). So I'm thinking a chunky long necklace. And maybe a simple bracelet (or none at all).

What about shoes? I have a pair of tailored black patent leather kitten-heel pumps (I cannot wear anything higher than a kitten heel - I SUCK with walking in heels and prefer to wear flats).

I'll go with black opaque tights - best brands? I'd have to buy in-store since this party is next week...
