Leapfrog Scribble and Write - any good?

I have put off giving any thought to chanukkah gifts for way too long...

I am considering telling MIL to buy this for DD1. She is 3.5yo and pretty advaced verbally and with fine motor skills. She is always trying to write letters. Would this be good for her? Is the pen easy enough to manipulate and does it write easily?

My son has had this since 2 yr 8 months (or so) and LOVES it. It is also good for just scribbling on even if they don't want to follow the lights -- but he has recently begun tracing the lights too and loves it!

DS has this and he likes it. It isn't played with all the time, but it is great toy for taking in the car.

Ours lives in the car. Sometimes goes into stores (has a Wal-mart smiley face sticker on the back so we do not get problems)
