My son will be turning 5 years old soon and likes playing this online traffic game:

The "not so bad" puzzles are about the right level for him. I am considering buying this ThinkFun Rush Hour game (the regular one, not the Jr. version) as a birthday present for him:

If you have the game, do you think that my DS would enjoy it or would it be too hard for him?

TIA for any feedback!

Can you get the Jr. version? Just right for 5yo.

I would go with the Jr. version. I know during past discussions some PP's have said that their DC's outgrew the Jr. very quickly before moving on to the regular version. I did not find this to be the case with DS1 who is also good at these logic puzzles. The regular is definitely harder and DS1 would have been very frustrated if I started him with that version. It does build a child's confidence when they are able to do the puzzles themselves. I rather start with that than have him be discouraged with the harder puzzles.

Thanks for your responses. I was leaning towards the regular one (not Jr.) because I didn't want him to get bored with it quickly. But I understand that it's important he not get frustrated either, so now I think I'll get the Jr.

My ds1 is one that outgrew the Jr. after not too long but he still enjoyed/ enjoys it. It's a good toy.

Just wondering what the right age is for the jr. version. My dd is 3.5 but enjoys games / puzzles...is she too young?

For us the regular would have been the best choice. At 5, the Jr. was too easy for DS1.
