I need to find some dress boots to wear with suits. Well, unless there's a better solution for skirt suits in Michigan. I've been in "Mom-wear" mode for years but am in my last year of law school and really need to take it up a notch.

I know that I want something black and I need to be able to wear them in the snow, at least from the car to the doorway:) I tried a bunch on at Nordstrom Rack today and didn't love any of them. Most of them came up above the knee, which just seemed like too much.

Looking around, I think that I'd wear them with textured tights. Does that sound right? I'm really feeling out of the shoe fashion loop....

I bought these and think they would do well. Not a difficult heel, great rubber sole for traction, pretty leather...

Anyone with a average/ slightly large sized calf would be able to wear them. My calves are too small and they were too big on me. SIL was here when they arrived and promptly stole them (paid me later :)).

I wear these to the office pretty much every day:

They'd be fine walking in snow, slush (they have traction on the bottoms), they're super comfy and I love the way they look. HTH!
