My son is 6 1/2, and he's asked for both a skateboard and a snowboard for Christmas. Except he's never used either, and he's not exactly a daredevil with excellent coordination. It's mostly a matter of him wanting to be like the bigger kids in our neighborhood.
We have a room in our basement with a concrete floor, so i'm not opposed to getting him a skateboard that he can practice on a little bit over the winter. But I have no idea what differentiates one from another. Or is he better off starting with a scooter? (He's never asked for one of those, but sometimes Santa just knows what's best. ;-)
