I'm thinking of meeting someone to look at a year-old Baby Jogger City Single (I assume it's a City Classic Single). She said it's in mint condition.

Is it a good deal?

Is it a good AT stroller? I have done no research on this stroller. I was really coveting the Bob Revo and BJ City Elite. Is the City Classic Single comparable?

I wouldn't use it for jogging. Mostly neighborhood walks, farmers market (grassy), zoo, etc.

Yes, I think so, but verify the age. The 2008 single model did not have suspension in the front wheel. 2009 of newer should be good, I think. The 2008 double had suspension, and both models did starting in 2009. Otherwise, it would probably be good. The wheels should be black if it is 2009 or newer, I'm pretty sure.

I would verify the fold, that the break engages easily and firmly and that the handlebar is firm. Also make sure that the wheels all work properly. I had some wheel issues with my two BJCCDs. Good luck!

She emailed me some pics. The wheels are black with silver spokes (?). Does that mean a 2008?

Yep. 2008.

Thanks. I think I'll take a look at it anyway. I currently have a Cortina and Peg Si, so I'd like to get something to replace the Cortina. If I like it, maybe I'll see if she'll give it to me for less.

I think its worth checking it out. The activities you describe don't require a suspension in my opinion. Be sure to check for everything A described and I think you will have a decent find on your hands. I would also negotiate for a lower price because why not?

I took off from work, drove to the meeting place, and waited for 25 minutes. She never showed. When I got back to work, she emailed and said she sold it already. B#&*h! She knew I was taking off of work to meet her.

Anyway, thanks all for your quick responses!

Honolulumom, we can find you a deal on a better stroller!

She was incredibly inconsiderate. CL no shows are such a pet peeve of mine. Based upon her behavior, I would not trust her for a major purchase anyway. I hope that you are able to find a better stroller deal anyhow!

Ok, given that it was a 2008 model, had no suspension, and those went down to $139ish (IIRC)when the updated ones came out, I wouldn't sweat it. We'll find you a better one. Post a " ISO best price on a single A/T" and we'll eventually find you something.
