Hi! I really want to get my 3 year old a down alternative comforter for her bed at a relatively affordable price and then get her a nice cover for it from company kids. WIll Ikea comforters fit okay? I see the dimensions for ikea comforters are different than the mainstream ones you get in say target/macys/overstock, etc. Does anyone have an ikea comforter and use it with a non ikea duvet cover?

Well, I have the opposite of what you are describing- we have a twin size comforter (bought from Target) with a duvet cover from Ikea. It works out fine. FWIW, in my bedroom we have an extra large king size down comforter fitting into a standard king size duvet cover and it is just fine. I can't imagine you would have a problem with the fit, unless the dimensions of the duvet cover were much larger than the comforter itself. hth

DD has a PBK duvet cover over an IKEA duvet. Works fine for us....

Yes, it's fine.

My boys have Ikea comforters and Land of Nod duvet covers.
We have a Macys comforter and an Ikea duvet cover.

Yes it works. DDs have PB duvet covers with down alternative IKEA comforter and DS has a Tommy Hilfiger duvet cover with an IKEA comforter.
