We have nice wooden blocks, but I saw these on sale at Costco.

The kids love to build stuff, but they are 7 and 11. Would these be appropriate or give added value compared to other wooden blocks?

I think older kids get more use out of Citi blocks then younger kids will.

There are definately many things that you can build with citi blocks that wouldn't work as well with unit blocks, etc. We have a mix of Kapla/ Keva which are basically the same thing as citiblocks but more expensive.

I'm stupid, and there aren't instructions (other than a few pages of "finished" projects). How do the blocks stay together without toppling?

I tried a couple of those suggested "projects" and failed miserably.

Are there kids out there that patient? To spend half an hour building something out of, say, 150 blocks and watch it come down because of one wrong move? I don't know many adults that wouldn't be frustrated by something like that ;)
