I am trying to declutter my house and found my ancient address book that I've been afraid to let go of. I'd really like to move all my contacts/addresses online, so I'm wondering if there are good sites to do this. I would just use my gmail address book, but some of the addresses I have are for people I do not have email addresses for and don't plan on ever emailing them. (Plus I find it is kind of hard to access gmail address book just as a reference, as it is designed to be accessed automatically when I type the first few letters of a contact in the "To" field of an email.)

Can anyone recommend an online address book or contact info organizer? Thanks! :)

I just use my hotmail, you can add contacts even if they do not have email, it gives you room for all their other contact information.

Personally, I would be hesitant to put all my addresses up on a website, for security reasons.

Organized Christmas just put up a Christmas card list that you can save as a PDF to your computer and fill out. I am using that now as my address/phone book.

It's here, just click on 2010 Christmas Card List and save it.

You mean that's not the purpose of Amazon's address book? ;)

And I love the idea of just keeping a PDF on my computer... (Now why didn't I think of that???)

Thanks for the replies everyone!

google docs/spreadsheets, etc.

You've gotten some suggestions already, but I wanted to suggest that google docs has a really full set of tools that are just perfect for this--and unlike the pdf solution they would be online. Anything happened to your drive, they'd still be there and safe. This is an old tutorial, but still relevant. You are not taking excel data and moving it, but you can enter your data using a form in the second link below.

check this out. An online form that you could point your friends to via email and they could fill out (no typing for you). They fill out the form and a google spreadsheet is filled in with the info you need. (I love google's online form builder!!)

and finally, this is google's version of how to use google docs to plan a wedding. relevant on a smaller scale--the database of address & invitation sending is analogous.

Perfect, this is exactly what I was looking for. I was actually hoping I could find something in google... before I posted this I googled "google address book," but I got hits for gmail. Come to think of it, I do like the idea of having something online so I'm not putting all the information on one hard drive. Thank you!

:jammin: I'm so happy I was helpful!

I use google docs for everything these days. Making those forms is super easy to do and they're useful for so many things. here's how you make your own custom non-address related forms (in case you're interested).
