This made me sad. My mom was very lucky and lived for many many years after her cancer spread to her bones. I had hoped Elizabeth would enjoy this type of luck, too.

Makes me very sad too, cancer is such an awful disease. I lost a close relative to cancer, that spread very quickly, last year. I hope her children can find comfort during what has to be an incredibly difficult time.

Pancreatic cancer took my neighbor 2 doors away in 6 QUICK weeks. I had not even stopped in to check on her during that time.

I feel so sad for her kids. She just seemed to be such an amazing person and I recall how my heart went out to her when I heard about her husband's affair despite her steadfast loyalty and sacrifices for him.

I was upset when I read she had stopped treatment, and that was just yesterday. The part where you know you are going to die and have given up hope of living is just so depressing to me. I was shocked to read the news that she had already passed- so she really must have been fighting it up to the very end. Peace to her and her family.

Very sad. She had such an amazing life and then for it to turn upside down while fighting for her life must of been beyond difficult. Leaving her children behind must of been so painful but hopefully she found comfort knowing she would be joining her son, Wade.

I feel for her children and hate that she couldnt live the last years of her life free of scandal..

I thought the same thing, but then I thought they may have planned it that way to put the press release out there at the very end when they knew she would not live more than another day or two so that they wouldn't have to navigate press requests in the final days.

Sad, I certainly feel the world has lost an amazing person. And her poor kids--young and just before Christmas. ugh. May they receive all the strength, hugs, blessings and support they need.

She's a mother of four. I'm sure it's a journalistic oversight but hearing "mother of 3" when her son passed away but she was still his mother rubs me the wrong way.

Hearing that she passed away made me so sad as well. I just kept thinking about her kids...and hoping that they are surrounded by love and support during all of this. Peace to her and the family.
