M&D toy shopping cart

Can someone tell me how the wheels on the Melissa and Doug toy shopping cart does on hardwood floors? I'd like to get it for DD but am concerned about scratching our floors.

Also, it's about $40 on most sites. Will it go cheaper before Christmas?
