Anyone own a ceramic cookie jar?

Do you know if my cookies will get stale if I put them in the ceramic jar? I had given my mom one for Xmas a few years before she died and when I was cleaning my dad's house the other day, I saw it in the pantry. It still had styrofoam in it so apparently she never used it. I brought it back to my house, cleaned it out and put some homemade cookies in it tonight. However, I was thinking that maybe mom didn't want to use it because she was afraid of the cookies going stale since the jar lid doesn't seal? It just sets on top.

Anyone know? tia

Eh. I've never had any problems. Then again, I don't put alot of cookies in it these days. But they should be good for a couple weeks or so.
