I wonder if they'll have non-mac stuff since they show a fleurville bag in the preview.

Cool. Maybe they'll have toy strollers and I'll try for the third time to get one for my LO.

Looked at it, wasn't tempted by anything but the green seat liner (and I figure I have until spring to figure out what to do about a liner, as the Bundle Me is currently serving that function).

Stroller newbie here..
I was hoping to get the Mac Triumph from the gilt sale- have been waitlisted.

Any other suggestions for a good bargain on these?

I found these on ebay-

Any cons to buying a 2008/2009 new in box stroller? Do strollers ( like car seats) have expiration dates?

Daisy, start a new thread with your question, and you will get lots of responses, I'm sure.

Generally speaking, strollers don't have expiration dates like car seats. They do break over time, and a lot depends on how well they are being taken care of - but all that would refer to used strollers. New ones are safe to buy, even if they were manufactured 3 or more years ago.

One thing though, especially with macs: every year there is a slight change in the stroller itself. Now, it's usually not a huge change that makes the previous model obsolete (like say new computer), but it does make a difference. Things like: different buckle, different brake system etc. They all work well regardless of year of manufacture, but one may be easier to use than the other. I personally very much like the step on brakes that newer macs have (2010 and up). Older brakes are functional (and very strong!) but less user friendly - imho. On the other hand, I much prefer the "older" square buckle (similar to bugaboo), than new round one (I feel I always would break a nail or two) - again, this is just me.

In terms of resale value, a newer model might be more advisable. But you always will be able to sell your mac and recoup most of what you've spent. it is very popular and very good stroller.

Daisy, I was looking at that seller on Ebay too and they have good deals but they are not an authorized dealer and don't offer a Maclaren warranty. I ended up ordering from Albeebaby and paid a little bit more.

I would check babies r us in the clearance section - sometimes around this time of year you can score a good deal...

Also - seller babyproductstore on ebay is widely believed to be the maclaren outlet (they only sell maclarens, often sell maclaren floor models, and are housed in Conn where the Maclaren US warehouse and headquarters are). While they say they do not have the Maclaren warranty, they do offer their own warranty. This green one is $117 and they also have a few others for less... http://cgi.ebay.com/Maclaren-Triumph-Racing-Green-2009-Stroller-New-Box-/250743819401?pt=Strollers&hash=item3a617f0c89
Ebates is I think 4% back?

DIapers.com has this one (and it appears from the picture to have the newer hinges) for $150

Ebates is 5.5% back

HTH!

ETA - I have 2 2009s - my Ryder has giant step on brakes on the wheels which are great. My triumph has toggle brakes which are fine. I would probably prefer the step on brake in the center, but since I have never tried it, I don't really know the difference. I have both the round buckle and the square. I prefer the square - the round buckle makes me a little twitchy, but either is fine...
The newer hinges don't require hinge covers... Mine both have hinge covers - doesn't really bother me, but all these are personal preference...
