Has anyone seen any anywhere? I waited too long to take dd to paint your own pottery place and michaels said they were sold out. Would love any tips!

I'm not sure what kind of ornament kit you are looking for, or how old your DD is, but there are a couple Christmas tree/ornament kits from Shrinky Dinks. Here is one:

http://www.amazon.com/Faber-Castell-1185-Shrinky-Holiday/dp/B000UEDTWC

(But I wouldn't say that's a good price. They have it at my Barnes and Noble, and you could probably dig up a coupon if you are interested.)

We have a different Shrinky Dink tree:

(Picture looks distorted, but we did get it at Learning Express. My LE sent me an email today that said all Christmas stuff is 50%, and they had a pic of that tree.)

If you are looking for regular ornaments to put on a tree you can probably google homemade ornaments and find easy to make "dough" (probably cornstarch and water, etc.) that you could then cut out with cookie cutters and paint. HTH!

Was just at our local Joann Fabrics store - - and they had a BUNCH of them on clearance - - they already started their christmas 40-60% off. Their craft sections isn't as large at Michaels, but a decent selection. The ornaments and the paint were sold separately. Hope this helps.

Well, there's clay, like this (you can do any design, not just hands/feet):

And then there are little canvases - here's a how-to:

We got little canvases, some non-toxic paint and a little ribbon, and everybody painted an ornament last year. Big success! We're doing it again this year. You can also glue or sew things to the canvas.
