Cream cheese frosting-make ahead?

I would like to frost some cupcakes, can I make cream cheese frosting today and ice the cupcakes tmrw? Or can I frost today and keep cupcakes at room temperature, (house is warm b/c of heater) in a covered cake platter? New to baking so your help is appreciated!! Thx!!

If you frost them today I'd keep them in the fridge.

And you can absolutely make it ahead and frost tomorrow, I've done it. You'll have to beat it up a bit tomorrow to soften it, maybe even put it in the microwave a few seconds and the beat it.

I didn't have time to do this today so I guess I'll be frosting tmrw. Thx though ... Nice to know for future reference!!
