OK, I have never tasted or even seen a kugel. I was reading Kath's post http://www.windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=383457

and found Fairy's thread and this recipe: http://smittenkitchen.com/2008/10/my-familys-noodle-kugel/ OMG, this sounds so good. If I can cook anything with cherry pie filling, count me in.

However, I'm having some problems with the ingredient measures.

What is 1 pound of egg noodles? Is that 1 regular size bag?

Also, what is 2 pounds of cottage cheese? Is this 2 small containers??

HELP!

Can't help with the noodles, but our cottage cheese comes in a small and larger size and the bigger ones are 1.5 lbs. The one in my fridge measures 12 cm tall and has a 11 cm diameter lid, if that helps. Does yours come in volume? You can figure the volume you need from my measurements.

ETA: The container says it's 6 cups (for 1.5 lbs). So, you'd need 8 cups total for 2 lbs.

1 lb of noodles is a regular size bag in the US (almost all pasta is sized like this).

THANKS! our regular sized containers are 2 cups (500ml), I think the large ones are 4 cups. So that would be 2 large containers I'm guessing.
