I ran through Costco to pick up a few things and found the Leapster Explorer Madagascar Commando Pack for $21.97

http://www.amazon.com/Leapster-Explorer-Penguins-Madagascar-Commando/dp/B0046DEKC6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1293219501&sr=8-2

and the Star Trek Scene It Pack for $19.97

http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-scene-Ultimate-Pack/dp/B00474VIBA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1293219630&sr=1-1

I was there on Wednesday and they were much higher. The cashier said they had just been marked down this morning.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I bought that Leapster Explorer pack several weeks ago when it was $74.99. I returned it last week, and it rang up at $59.99, but she adjusted the credit to what I'd paid after looking up the transaction in the system. It's amazing if it went all the way down that low, but then again, you can even pretend to find a toy in Costco once Christmas comes, so they were probably trying to clear them out.

Costco will generally do price adjustments within 30 days if the item went down. The Leapster Explorer set was $21.97 at our local Costco too yesterday, and that price can't be beat! Too bad we didn't need it. I was so tempted!

We have two costcos close to us - one has been out of the hanna for a long time - the other has the new sleepers, and still had leggings, now down to $8 for 2 pr! They had almost nothing above a 4T, but I did snag the purple/brown set for DD1, and a couple sets for DD2.

They also had Hartstrings sweaters down to $6, and some other deals - didn't look at toys at all.

I have a hard time getting thrift store leggings for that price....

Anyone else go to Costco today?
We plan to go tonight and I have hanna stuff, gift cards, and explorer on my list.
Anything else on super sale?

I went early this morning at 10 am right when they opened and found a small section (about 3 pallets) of leftover Xmas toys. No Leapster pack (though the big price tag was still taped up so maybe sold out yesterday). All I saw were the plasma cars (still $37 something), the Disney girls' bikes, and some cheap looking plastic toys. If the plasma cars were cheaper I'd consider one but I passed on everything that was left.

Thanks for posting about the Explorer. The last one at my store was still marked 74+ but rang up $21.97. The cashier was shocked.

520555 is on the receipt. Is that the item number? The price tag sign is taped to the box. It's in the attic but I can get it if needed.

the costco in Waltham was pretty cleared out last night.
No leggings, not too many toys. They had Wii lightsabers 2 pack for $5, but I passed since the idea of my 5 year old swinging that around while playing the sword game gives me a head ache. ;-) I did get the gift cards for $13 - not the sale price, but a great set of cards, and I got the snapware built-it tote combo on sale for $10.

They were also already set up for spring - beach toys, goggles, etc.

I had to go to Costco again yesterday and found a few more things. I hadn't thought to go through the area with the kitchen/dishes/etc but they had a lot on clearance there too. They had:

They also had their dish sets on sale pretty inexpensively and had several sets left. I also saw a woman checking out with a set of Contigo mugs with a sale price but I couldn't see what she was paying. I'm totally loving my Android Amazon app for shopping at Costco! It really helps guage the original price since Costco doesn't post it.

I'm assuming the Android app is like the iPhone one for Amazon....you can scan an item in a store from your phone and it comes up on the Amazon app with pricing....I used this a lot for holiday shopping - if something was cheaper on Amazon, I could order it directly from my phone!

Thanks for the tip! My husband wanted to do a costco run after work today and I came across a tiny section of leftover christmas toys in the back. There happened to be 1 leapster pack for $21.97 on top of a bunch of other packages. For that price, I had to pick it up to save for my older daughters 4th birthday in May!

They also had 1 kidkraft mansion dollhouse for $49 that i wanted to get to save for next christmas, but my husband said no....boo!! I really wish we had gotten it.

Sigh.

I think my Costco must order well or something. They mark down some toys before Christmas -- but nothing good was really left the week before.

There was maybe one aisle worth of toys on the 26th, but it was moved to a "back corner" -- and I don't think anything was really marked down. There was one big Lego set that was $95 -- probably less than Amazon, but not the half-off ($50) that I got the Lego Battle of Endor set for there on the 23rd or 24th last year.

I went to Costco on the 23rd and they still had two full aisles of toys with no new markdowns. I went back the day after Christmas and "poof"... the toys were all gone and they put furniture in its place. They moved a very small portion of the toys to the back, but it literally was only about 3 or 4 items. I asked an employee about the Shure magnetic doll set. She looked it up and said that they had all been shipped out. So much for finding good deals at my Costco after Christmas!

Costco's toys and Christmas stuff always gets boxed up the day after Christmas.
